Food Culture and Society in Italy
Gambero Rosso Academy has hosted the students of Miami Dade College for a week of full immersion into Italian enogastronomy.
The students have looked at how the Italian cuisine has evolved through the years, what Italians eat during festivities but also at the culinary, historical and anthropological difference between north and south of Italy.
The didactic was based on a combination of lectures, cooking labs, tastings of wine, oil, cheese and cured meat.
Visits to the farmers’ markets and a gastronomic walking tour have also made this experience highly dynamic and have helped the students understand what real Italian cuisine is all about.
